Google celebrated the 90th birthday of Gumby creator Art Clokey with an interactive stop motion homepage on Wednesday. The doodle, which went live on international Wed sites features a child’s block with the letter ‘G’ followed by five balls of colored for the remaining letter in the search giant’s. You can try with Google, click on the balls of Gumby and Clay characters. I hope you will look the Blockheads, Goo and Gumby with Pokey. The doodle was created by Art Clokey productions studio which started his career in the 1980s on the Gumby series. Nicole La Pointe –McKay and a Gumby lead puppet maker modeled the characters for the doodle.

Clokey’s son said ‘The Google doodle is a perfect tribute to my father’s work. Art’s life and career were ahead of their time and my father would have been thrilled to be connected with Google.’ Clokey was born in 1921near Detroit but he had lost his father in a car accident that time he was 9 year old. He created the characters for ‘The Adventures of Gumby.’ He married Ruth Parkander and moved to Hollywood in order to make religious movies but he got his start in commercials. He was tutoring the son of a 20th century Fox producer at the time. They invited Clokey which was basically 3.5 minute music video. NBC signed Clokey to seven year contract to produce the Gumby series.

Their company develops cutting edge technology for digital animation this Google doodle celebrating Henson’s 75th birthday.’  Jim Henson was born in 1936 in Mississippi. He got his start in 1954 performing puppets on a TV show. He earned his own 5 minute on a local NBC affiliate on Friday. The show produced his future wife Jane Nebel an early version of ‘Kermit the Frog.’

Actress Dolores Hopes dead at the age of 102 in her Toluca Lake home. Actress had owned the home for than 70 years and she continued to live here after her husband’s death. She was born in New York City and she started singing professionally in the 1930s. She met her husband at a Manhattan nightclub. This couple married 19, 1934. The couple together was 69 years until Bob Hope’s death. Her husband was an avid golfer. Hollywood popular star ‘Andy Whitfield’ and the star of the TV series ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand’ lost the battle cancer on Sunday. The actor was 39 years old and his friend and family are very sad. Andy was born in Amlwch, Wales but he moved to Sydney in 1999. He was diagnosed stage 1 of the disease in March 2010. Actor declared cancer free two months later. His Spartacus co star Lucy Lawless paid tribute to him on her website. He wrote ‘gentle man who never had a bad world about anyone.’ the actor cancer returned in September and he was advised to resume aggressive treatment.

Whitfield’s wife says ‘On a beautiful sunny Sydney spring morning by his family and in the arms of his loving wife. Young warrior Andy Whitfield lost his 18 month battle with lymphoma cancer.’ He also said ‘he passed peacefully surrounded by love and thanks you to all his fans. He will be remembered as the inspiring courageous gentle man and husband he was.’ Andy was a virtual unknown when actor was cast the legendary Thracian salve in Spartacus. A role made famous by Kirk Douglas in the ‘Stanley Kubrick film.’
